Some coral species look like "plants" with solid but flexible branches. Like Gorgoniidae of octocorals species from the Caribbean sea, they are fast growing -comparing to others. I is manually harvested only.

Our coral belongs to this kind.

Its branches grow 15 cm in one year. Other species -like protected Black Coral- grow 2mm /year. Our coral is collored within a spectrum from black to light golden.

Coral Caribe with Margarita Cadavid brand is working on a natural species protection program to grow octocorals in the region. To be used by native artisans.

The native divers and artisans of this region have their roots in african and indigenous ethnics.
For centuries they belong to this lands and their resources come out mostly from the sea. These are poor (money wise) communities with lack of opportunities to integrate with the formal productive system of the Country.

Coral jewels of Coral Caribe are 100% hand made, one by one, in a nice and rustic workshop on caribbean coasts.
There is a limited production capacity.

The natural material of our coral is never processed industrially nor traded in wholesales markets.
